Ibn Al-Qayyim رحمه الله تعالى said:

Verily the slave will continue to perpetrate sins until he belittles it and considers it small in his heart, and this is a sign of disaster; for verily whenever sins becomes considered as small in the eyes of the slave, it becomes tremendous in the sight of Allaah.
